About Justin Chew
Versatile jazz pianist Justin Chew is also an arranger of music that encompasses various genres. Apart from these endeavors, he explores a wide array of musical activities, including conducting, playing the French horn, choir singing, and acting in the role of an assistant Chinese drum coach of the 24 Seasons ensemble.

He is currently pursuing a degree in music performance at Putra University of Malaysia, under the tutelage of renowned Malaysian jazz pianist Mr. Tay Cher Siang. A highlight of Justin’s nascent career has been a partnership with the versatile and vibrant French soprano, Maja Pavlovska at the Royal Lake Club. He has made appearances at No Black Tie in Kuala Lumpur, China House Café in Penang, and Yamaha headquarters in Kelana Jaya.

Justin has recently been the primary arranger for the UPM Orchestra. Recently, his orchestral arrangements were premiered at Bentley Auditorium, in conjunction with the inaugural UPM Music Therapy and Autism Seminar. He has been commissioned to arrange for charity busking trio Attune, and has arranged for the string ensemble group under the UPM Chinese Orchestra Club, in addition to conducting this ensemble.

Born and raised in Cheras, he first began his musical studies in the classical genre under Geraldine Anne Cheow and continues to have an appreciation for all forms of music. Other tutors who have guided and inspired him in embarking this journey are Mrs. Poh Ee Chuin, Mrs. Leong Ngan Ping, Mr. Terence Liew Khai Rhern and Dr. Chan Cheong Jan. In 2013, he graduated with a Foundation in Music certification from UCSI University, which was his first step in his path towards jazz. One of his objectives is to discover the endless possibilities of every kind of music, and experimenting on how it all fits together.
